A membership Appreciation and Friendraiser. That's the theme of the Cakes Galore Tasting and Best Recipe Contest Event being planned by the Friends, on April 30th from 2 to 4 in the LaVon Butt multi-purpose room. The purpose of the event is to increase membership and raise awareness about the Friends and the library. Cake samplings will be the focal point, of course. All attendees are urged to sample the e cakes and at the end designate their "favorite" for first and second prizes. Restaurants from the community and FOL members will donate the cakes. |
Current Friends who bring new members that sign up during the event will both be eligible for door prizes. Prizes such as A Tisket, a Tasket, a Literary Basket, donated by UCB (see photo above), and appreciation gifts will be awarded throughout the event. Children attending will also receive prizes (not responsible for any tummy aches). Look for your invitation in the mail and local newspaper announcement of this event. |
