If you have visited our library recently, you will have noticed that the renovations to the reading nook have been (almost) completed. A dedication ceremony has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, at 3:15 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Friends of the Library want to take a moment to thank the energetic committee who organized the renovation and the local merchants who contributed to its completion. |

President Jean Craig and vice president Judy Shaner spent endless hours coordinating the selection of various pieces and the work. The furniture was purchased through Shawn's Home Furnishings; the lamps originated at Ritz Furniture; the area rug was donated by Rug Shop. We especially wish to thank Laura Chapman who donated both her time and the artful valance for the window treatment. |

Thanks also to Mr. Gene Aldeman, formerly with North Georgia Technical College, who coordinated the efforts of donors at that institution and oversaw the initial design and structural changes to the area. Mr. Reck Neibuhr assisted greatly by painting the columns and brackets for the valance. And, of course, many thanks also go to the many Friends who sent commemorative donations which will go toward funding the purchase of new books for our library in memory of Pattie. |
