Thursday, August 18, at 7:00 pm is an important date to put on your calendar. This is the date of a lawn reception at the library to "officially" welcome our new Mountain Regional Library System Director, Donna Howell, who took over the directorship on July 1, 2005, from Teresa Haymore. We will also be inviting officials and friends in the community to meet Donna. She will speak about the inner workings of the library system. She will explain polocies, procedures, and budget of the system and how they are connected to the state system. Many things that are decided at the state level make their way down the pike to the FOL, as well. |

We also plan to ask our GeorgiaState Representative, Charles Jenkins, and our Union County Commissioner Lamar Paris to attend and speak on the future of our library here. |
||
We encourage all Friends to come out for this event and support Donna as she begins her duties as our new System Director. A tent will be pitched on the lawn as we expect a cool evening. |
