A Message from the President: |

It has been a very rewarding year to serve our community as president of Friends of the Library. There have also been difficult moments in facing the death of our founding president, Pattie Hamilton, and the serious illness of Pat Scott, our second president, which has taken her from Blairsville to her children's homes. The loss of these ambitious ladies and their skills have been felt by all, and they are greatly missed. |

The work of Friends of the Library continues with diligence as the current officers and chairs pursue their responsibilities. I would like to publicly thank each person for their tireless efforts and commitment to excellence and for their vision for the future of Friends of the Library: Judy Shaner, Vice-president; Miki Rice, Treasurer; Jeanie Bullock, Secretary; Michelle Maloney, Membership; Fran Scanlon-Sills, Publicity; Jane Thompson, Social; Judy Shaner, Staff Appreciation; Ken Johnson, Newsletter; Judy Vaughn, E-Committee. |

I also publicly thank Mr. Gene Alderman of North Georgia Technical College for his heartfelt interest in the Pattie Hamilton Memorial Reading Nook area of the library. |

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as president again in 2004, and I look forward to many goals and visions achieved. |
