| The nominating committee will present a slate of officers at our October meeting to be voted on November 20. Please plan to attend and exercise your membership rights. This is your organization! Our open meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Library. All are welcome and we appreciate your input. |

| TRASH 'n TREASURE |

| Congratulations and special thanks to all of our Friends who volunteered their time, energy and enthusiasm to make this year's Trash n' Treasure fundraiser such a huge success. And thanks also to our wonderful community who supported us with their generous donations and their attendance at the sale. We will now have more funds to supplement the library budget as needs arise. Our librarian, Wilma Ash, will use some of the proceeds from our fundraiser to order new computer chairs and audio children's book tapes. Thank you all who participated in this event which supports our local, increasingly busy library. |

| The annual picnic scheduled for Sept. 14 at Poteete Park was canceled because of rain. It was rescheduled for the following Saturday, Sept. 21. Poteete Park was not available so Meeks Park was to be the host park. But again the heavens cried and we called the whole thing off. Maybe next year we will be luckier. |
